I studied massage in Portland, Oregon; one of the west coast’s major holistic centers. Massage to me is a way to not only relax the body, but to aid in healing the mind and spirit. I enjoy helping people solve their physical problems. Not only can the pain be relieved, but the client’s outlook on life can be dramatically improved. This is what I mean by the body/mind connection. Sometimes it feels as though our heads and bodies are not connected. In today’s society we have been conditioned to focus primarily on the mind. We must retrain ourselves to look at our mind and body as equals. We should all take this step before outside forces including stress take over.

We see stories on the news informing us daily that stress is the #1 killer in this country. So why don’t we do anything about it? I find massage or body/mind therapy to be a wonderful way of keeping both the body and mind in tip top shape. We must be proactive in our lifestyles so that we live healthier and happier lives.
